You may have heard about King David in the Old Testament of the Bible. He was the famous king of ancient Israel who lived around 1,000 years before Jesus. King David ushered in the golden era of ancient Israel. Later, he was known as the man after God's own heart. That was not because he was morally perfect (far from it) but because he remained close to God and trusted (relied on) Him throughout life in good times and bad ones. He expressed his desire to be in God's presence in a psalm: I have asked the LORD for one thing - this is what I desire! I want to live in the LORD's house all the days of my life, so I can gaze at the splendor of the LORD and contemplate in his temple. (Psalm 27:4) David was enamored with God and deeply desired to experience the beauty and majesty of His grace and goodness. David is also known as a musician.
